A missing girl, a mystic wood, a toad infested grotto, and a cult of feral raccoons. Can you survive the croaking horrors that lurk deep within the dark?

Warts & All is an introductory adventure module designed for 1^st and 2^nd level crawlers, for use with Shadowdark RPG. It can be completed in about 3 hours and can be played either as a one-shot or integrated into forest region as part of an existing campaign.

Design Goals

I created this adventure module with a couple goals in mind. 

A focus on usability. I challenged myself to include all information in order to run a location included in one page in order to reduce flipping.

Increase player engagement. I tried to include an obvious goal, and obstacles, at each location to entice the players into being proactive.

Accessible introduction for new game masters. Inspired by some of my favourite video games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger, I wanted to keep the premise simple, yet full of wonder. While still being straightforward to run.
